Don't get me wrong, it seems to have helped him, and I'm very glad uncle Harry doesn't break into houses and steal things to fund his coke habit any more but I can't help but wonder...
well...
What was Jesus in jail for ?

You don't want to go any further, but the route backwards seems to have been blocked and sealed..
There seem to be machines which patrol the maze, but they only notice you if you are not moving. If you keep walking they leave you alone. These constructs seem to destroy anything which isn't part of the maze and which isn't moving.
All the possible hiding places are probably unreliable.
In order to escape confinement, you have to head further into the unexplored areas of the maze, and just hope that you will find an exit point before you die of starvation and thirst.
The problem is, some of the "exit points" are tricks which lead you back into the labyrinth. You don't have a compass, so you have been trying to make marks on the wall to give yourself reference points.
Unfortunately, you are starting to think that someone is following you and removing the marks you make on the walls, and it isn't one of the machines (which make a lot of noise as they walk). Whoever is erasing your marks doesn't want to make contact, or to be seen but they don't want you to find your way out either.
What would you do ?

When my PC lost my emails, I lost the weblink to this short film. I am hoping that some one might recognise it from my (admittedly vague) description :
The film is set in a semi abandoned desert town, we see a stranger arrive, wearing a sword on his back. The new arrival looks like a cyborg, some parts of him look robotic. The scene changes to the local jail during a sandstorm. There is a child with cyborg parts in one of the jail cells. The child watches a dust devil whirling around outside. Cut to a scene where a huge cyborg man wielding a massive hammer jumps from a building onto the top of a moving train. This huge cyborg walks along the train top until he meets the child and the stranger mentioned earlier.
And that's all I have ! I know it's a long shot, but if anyone knows what this animation is called, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

I thought things were tough before, now I have to start doing an accounting course in the evenings just to stay employed, so I will have even less spare time than I did before. I feel like I'm running to stand still, I don't know how other people manage to deal with this kind of stuff.
I keep searching for new jobs. but it seems like there are thousands of people chasing one vacancy at the moment. Weekends are spent doing housework and preparing for the next nightmare working week, so I have almost no time to write or draw anymore.
I guess I shouldn't tempt fate, things could be worse. I just keep wishing I could turn the clock back and get better qualifications, then I wouldn't be in this fix. I think the only way forward is to throw every last penny I have into paying off the mortgage, buy my way out of the stress fest rat race.
What a mess. What a drag real life can be.

I guess I have to get out of the habit of thinking my hard drive is immortal and keep reminding myself that all these things have an expiry date.
Finally, just when I thought things had been salvaged, the north bridge fan is going on the motherboard and is making everything freeze up periodically, so I have to get a new one carefully installed, but even then, I'm not sure if I can rely on this old machine any more... I wanted to start reclaiming my research, but it feels like a waste of time - putting all my collected data back onto a leaky boat during a storm - like that. I don't really have money to buy a replacement system yet - so frustrating ! !
On the plus side, survived the purge in work, still employed, still earning. I should consider myself lucky, at least I don't live in Zimbabwe or Darfur, should count my blessings and stop moaning.
I hate winter. I will be so glad when I have a bit more daylight and warmth in the day. I'm so sick of darkness and cold.

So... next step is to buy an external disc drive anf try installing again.
Why can't anything be simple anymore ?
